Breast Augmentation in West Delhi: Implants, Cost, Recovery & Who It May Not Suit

Quick answer: breast augmentation is a surgical procedure that uses implants to increase breast size or change breast shape. It is performed under anaesthesia by a qualified plastic surgeon, involves a recovery period of several weeks, and implants are not lifetime devices. Across Delhi, it is usually quoted as a package in the region of Rs 1,20,000 to Rs 3,50,000. At Skulpted by Kan in Rajouri Garden, West Delhi, any surgical plan starts with a consultation and assessment.

What breast augmentation involves

In a breast augmentation, an implant is placed either behind the breast tissue or partly behind the chest muscle, through an incision that is usually placed in the fold under the breast, around the areola or in the armpit. The operation is performed under anaesthesia and typically takes one to two hours.

It is worth being clear about what the procedure is for. It changes size and shape; it is not a lift. Where there is significant sagging, a lift, or a lift combined with implants, may be discussed instead, and that is a different operation with different scars.

Choosing implants: type, size and placement

Silicone gel implants are the type most commonly used in India today. They come in different shapes (round or anatomical), profiles, surfaces and sizes. The right choice depends on your chest measurements, the amount of existing breast tissue, your skin quality and the look you are hoping for.

A good consultation spends more time on measurements and expectations than on a cup size. Bigger is not automatically better: an implant that is too large for the frame can increase the chance of problems later on.

Recovery: what the first weeks look like

Most people go home the same day or after a short stay. The first few days bring soreness, swelling and a feeling of tightness across the chest, and pain relief is prescribed. A supportive garment is usually worn for several weeks.

Many people return to desk work in around one to two weeks. Lifting, strenuous exercise and upper-body workouts are usually restricted for around four to six weeks. The implants take a few months to settle into their final position, and scars continue to fade for a year or more. Your surgeon sets the timeline for you; these are typical patterns, not promises.

How much does breast augmentation cost in Delhi?

Breast augmentation is usually quoted as a package that covers the surgeon's fee, anaesthesia, the operating facility and the implants. Across Delhi, packages are commonly quoted in the region of Rs 1,20,000 to Rs 3,50,000. The implant type and brand, the facility and the complexity of the surgery are the main things that move the figure.

Treat that as an indicative market range for orientation only, not a price list. An exact quote is confirmed after a surgical consultation, and pricing is shared for information, not as an inducement to treatment. When comparing quotes, check what is included — follow-up visits, garments, and what happens if a revision is needed.

Risks and who it may not suit

Like any operation, breast augmentation carries risks. These include bleeding, infection, changes in nipple or breast sensation, visible scarring, asymmetry, capsular contracture (scar tissue tightening around the implant), implant rupture and the need for further surgery in the future. A rare lymphoma called BIA-ALCL has been linked mainly to textured implants. These are discussed openly at consultation.

A surgeon may advise waiting, or advise against surgery, in cases of recent or planned pregnancy and breastfeeding, active infection, certain medical conditions or smoking. Expectations matter too: surgery can change shape and size, but it will not deliver an exact photograph.

Frequently asked questions

How long is recovery after breast augmentation?

Most people are advised to take roughly one to two weeks away from desk work, with soreness, swelling and tightness easing over the first few weeks. Lifting, strenuous exercise and upper-body workouts are usually restricted for around four to six weeks, and a supportive garment is often advised. The implants typically take a few months to settle into their final position. Recovery differs from person to person and your surgeon sets the timeline.

Do breast implants last for life?

Implants are not considered lifetime devices. Many last for many years, but some people will need further surgery at some point, for example because of capsular contracture, rupture, a change in position or a wish to change size. Regular follow-up and, where advised, imaging are part of living with implants.

Silicone or saline implants - which is used?

Silicone gel implants are the type most commonly used in India today, and they differ in shape, profile, surface and size. Saline implants are less commonly used. Which implant, which size and which placement suit you is a decision made with the operating surgeon after measurements and a discussion of your goals.

What are the risks of breast augmentation?

Like any operation it carries risks, including bleeding, infection, changes in nipple or breast sensation, visible scarring, asymmetry, capsular contracture (scar tissue tightening around the implant), implant rupture and the need for further surgery. A rare lymphoma called BIA-ALCL has been linked mainly to textured implants. These are explained at consultation so that the decision is an informed one.

Who may not be suitable for breast augmentation?

Pregnancy or breastfeeding in the recent past or near future, active infection, certain medical conditions, smoking, and unrealistic expectations are all reasons a surgeon may advise waiting or advise against surgery. A full medical history, examination and, where appropriate, breast imaging come before any surgery is planned.

Can I breastfeed after breast augmentation?

Many people can, but it is not something that can be promised in advance, and the type of incision and implant placement may be relevant. If future breastfeeding matters to you, raise it at consultation so it can be factored into the plan.
